Lands Minister-designate, 3 others approved by Parliament

Parliament has given approval for Minister-designate for Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, Minister-designate for North East Region, Tia Ibrahim and Ashanti Regional Minister-designate, Dr Frank Amoakohene to be sworn-in as Ministers.

Similarly, the Upper East Regional minister-designate, Akamugri Atanga Donatus was amongst the nominees who were also approved pending swearing-in by President Mahama.

All four were vetted on Monday, January 27, 2025 and approved after 7th report of the Appointment Committee was debated by MPs on Wednesday.

They were approved after the House had earlier approved Emmanuel Kwadwo-Agyekum as Minister of State Designate, Special Initiatives, Linda Obenewaa Akweley Ocloo as Minister-designate for Greater Accra Region and Kenneth Gilbert Adjei as Minister-designate, Works, Housing and Water Resources.

This brings the number of Ministers approved by the House on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 to seven. These ministers will add up to the 17 who have already been sworn-in by the President.

18 more ministerial nominees out of the 42 nominated by the President are yet to be vetted by the Committee.
