Kwabena Kwabena wades into East Legon accident caused by Salifu Amoako’s son [Video]

Ghanaian musician Kwabena Kwabena has added his voice to the ongoing controversy surrounding the tragic East Legon accident, which involved the 16-year-old son of Bishop Salifu Amoako.

The incident, which occurred on October 12, 2024, claimed the lives of two young girls and has sparked public outrage, particularly over the circumstances leading to the accident.

Speaking in an interview on Adom TV’s Showtym show, Kwabena Kwabena expressed his condolences to the families of the victims while acknowledging that both Bishop Salifu Amoako and the bereaved families have endured significant misfortune.

He urged the public to avoid casting judgment and instead learn from the tragedy.

“When you see a man fall, don’t laugh, and learn,” Kwabena Kwabena said, emphasizing the need for empathy.

He pointed out that allowing juveniles to drive not only endangers lives but also highlights the deficiencies in the country’s legal system.

“It shows our laws are not really working; it only works on the weak, feeble, and the poor,” he stated, criticizing what he sees as selective enforcement of the law in Ghana.

Nonetheless, the Adult Music crooner reiterated the need for the legal system to treat all individuals equally, regardless of their social status, and to ensure that justice is served.

The accident, which occurred as the two young girls were returning from a social event, has ignited calls for more stringent traffic regulations, especially concerning underage driving.

The incident has not only led to legal consequences for the Bishop and his wife, who have been charged with permitting an unlicensed person to drive, but also raised questions about the broader issue of road safety in Ghana.
