‘It’s irrelevant to me’ – Black Sherif responds to Shatta Wale’s threat to end his career

In an interview with Nigeria’s City FM on December 5, 2024, Black Sherif said he is not concerned about the threats by Shatta Wale to harm his career.

Labelling the whole issue as “irrelevant” to him, Black Sherif said “This is the second time I’ve been asked this question, and I think the kind of attention I’m supposed to give that thing to even have something to say, I don’t have it right now.”

“It is pretty irrelevant in my world. The discourse and everything. You have to care about something to even accept it, I don’t care and its not like in a disrespectful way,” he stated.

The ‘Kwaku The Traveller’ hitmaker also made it clear that he doesn’t see Shatta Wale as a rival.

“Nothing can happen between me and Shatta Wale. It just can’t happen. Because of the kind of position, we both occupy in society, the street doesn’t need that,” he added.

Black Sherif further refuted online rumors that his Snapchat story was meant to make fun of Shatta Wale’s fashion sense.

“I didn’t post anything on my Snap because of him. So, because someone went to do an interview, shouldn’t I post it on my snap? I didn’t reply anybody, and whatever they said online is just fan-fueled stuff… I don’t reply anything about my fashion stuff,” he said.

It is recalled that on Thursday, October 31, 2024, Shatta Wale, during a conversation on the Bant, Rants and Confessions podcast hosted by Efia Odo, expressed his dissatisfaction with Black Sherif’s style of dressing, stating that the singer could do better with his appearance.

It appeared the gesture didn’t sit well with Black Sherif, who posted a picture of Shatta Wale with the caption “I plaster everywhere” on Snapchat.

Many interpreted Blacko’s post as a subtle jab at the dancehall star’s appearance.
