FC Barcelona has announced the signing of David Oduro from a Ghanaian club, Accra Lions.
Oduro has joined Barcelona’s renowned La Masia Academy on a three-year contract that will run until June 30, 2027.
This transfer is significant as Oduro is the first player to make the leap to Barcelona directly from Ghana.
The deal follows a successful trial period, and Barcelona has confirmed the agreement with Accra Lions.
“FC Barcelona has reached an agreement with the Ghanaian Accra Lions for the transfer of the player David Oduro, who will join Barça Atlètic,” a statement on the club’s website read.
“Oduro signs for three seasons, until June 30, 2027. The player will travel to Barcelona in the coming days to join the training sessions of the Barça reserve team.
“The official signing of his contract will remain pending,” it added.

Before joining Barcelona, Oduro had trials with several top clubs, including Chelsea and Bayern Munich, and also attracted interest from Real Sociedad and Shakhtar Donetsk.
Despite not having completed a full season in the Ghana Premier League, he impressed with his talent, having made 50 appearances and scored one goal for Accra Lions.
